At the January meeting of the Parish Council we discussed the recent flooding and how this can be mitigated. We’re lobbying Notts County Council, Severn Trent Water and Via (the highways management company for the region) to investigate the problems and find solutions. Meanwhile we’ve also ordered a supply of sandbags and their modern water-absorbing equivalents.
We approved additional spending for the traffic-calming interactive speed signs. We expect to see these installed in Q1 2024.
We’re also nearly there with the procurement of AEDs, one in East stoke and one in Thorpe.
We’re working on installing dog waste bins in each village, which will be emptied weekly or fortnightly. Again this shouldn’t take too long before we see them.
