Here is a message from East Stoke Community Speedwatch…
A group of residents have recently formed the East Stoke Community Speedwatch to provide traffic speed information to the Traffic Division at Nottinghamshire Police.
If residents of East Stoke would like to join the group to volunteer monitoring the speed of vehicles passing through the village, they would be very welcome. To join the initiative please email Paul Stubbins at paulstubbins123@btinternet.com
The sessions, which must take place in daylight hours in the position agreed with Nottinghamshire Police, require three volunteers wearing hi-vis jackets (provided). In the sessions that have taken place we have found that typically 30 minutes is an ideal amount of time. There are no set times for the sessions (other than in daylight hours) and you can volunteer as much, or as little as you can.
By working together on this initiative we hope that we will be able to much reduce the speed which traffic passes through our village, and prevent a serious accident from happening.
