We had requested speed monitoring equipment be installed by Notts County Council to determine whether traffic speed and volume justified the installation of interactive speed signs, or any other measures, at public expense.
The results, which came on 5 Feb 2025, were that traffic volumes were insufficient to justify such public expenditure.
The detailed results are:
AM Peak:
Averaged in both directions, 160 vehicles per hour over a 7-day period; 131 vehicles per hour during peak morning times.
PM Peak:
Averaged in both directions, 199 vehicles per hour over a 7-day period; 168 vehicles per hour during peak evening times.
The 85th percentile speeds of traffic in each direction were 41mph Northbound and 42mph Southbound.
A request is now in place for two temporary interactive speed signs to be placed to confirm these results.
